MATsolutions offers a variety of LCR meters and impedance analyzers from a number of different manufacturers to help meet your needs: LCR Meters measure impedance (inductance, capacitance, and resistance) at spot frequencies; Capacitance Meters measure capacitance at spot frequencies; Resistance Meters are optimized for high-resistance or low-resistance measurements; Impedance Analyzers are the most powerful tool to measure impedance (inductance, capacitance, and resistance) across a range of frequencies.
An LCR meter is a piece of electronic test equipment used to measure the inductance (L), capacitance (c), and resistance (R) of a component. In the simpler versions of this instrument the true values of these quantities are not measured; rather the impedance is measured internally and converted for display to the corresponding capacitance or inductance value. More advanced designs measure true inductance or capacitance, and also the equivalent series resistance of capacitors and the Q factor of inductive components. An impedance analyzer provides complete component and material characterization with the use of various test fixtures. Impedance analyzers measure impedance across different frequencies, offer DC bias and AC signal level swept measurement functions, with some even offering temperature characteristic measurement solutions over a wide temperature range.
