Google Set to Unveil Wireless Service

Google is set to unveil its new U.S. wireless service as early as Wednesday, pushing the Internet giant further into telecom and injecting fresh uncertainty into a wireless industry already locked in a price war.
MATsolutions' insight:

Google is said to be unveiling a new wireless service, which is rumored to be released this month. The wireless service operates on T-Mobile and Sprint networks, switching off between the two depending on which has better service at your current location. This service aims to reduce cost of expensive data plans, and cut down on data that goes unused every month by allowing users to pay only for what they use. US cellular networks are currently in a bit of a price war, so it will be interesting to see what effects this service may have on the wireless industry.
