Did You Know? MATsolutions is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB)
Posted in MATsolutions
MATsolutions is a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB). But what exactly does this mean, and why is it important?
To be a small business, a company must adhere to industry size standards established by the U.S. Small Business Administration. To be veteran-owned, at least 51% of company ownership must have served in the US Armed Forces and must also be involved in the daily operation and management of the business (MATsolutions is 100% in this regard). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) classifies business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. economy. Because all federal agencies must use SBA size standards for contracts identified as small business, the specific NAICS codes that best describe a company's business are used to determine if size standards are met for the selected NAICS codes. And before a company can bid on government proposals, it will also need a Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS) number, SAM (System for Award Management) registration, and CAGE (Commercial and Government Entity) code.
Why does it matter?
Even if all the acronyms have your head spinning, you can feel good about doing business with a small and veteran-owned company. If you are a government agency, public institution or prime contractor, MATsolutions is a VOSB with a 23-year track record which is fully set up and ready to do business with you today.
