MATsolutions New Lab Capabilities: Thunder Scientific 2500

The fourth in our series of posts that provides a look inside the MATsolutions accredited calibration and repair lab features the Thunder Scientific 2500 Humidity Generator. We calibrate and repair over 25,000 assets annually in our 6,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art lab, which includes a full range of capabilities from test equipment, mechanical & physical/dimensional devices and tooling, and specialized measurements including humidity, temperature, and light.  The Thunder Scientific 2500 is one more example of our most recent and advanced acquisitions being covered in this series, which also include:

Thunder Scientific 2500

Overview: The Thunder Scientific 2500 is a self contained system capable of producing precise humidity values over a relative humidity range of 10-95% at temperatures spanning 0 to 70 °C.  Virtually any humidity and temperature point may be generated, for any length of time, within these limits.  Using the fundamental, NIST proven, “two-pressure” principle, the system is used for instrument calibration, evaluation, and verification, as well as for environmental testing.  Automated control ensures accurate and repeatable test profiles, while also providing reduced uncertainties and complete documentation of test results.

Used for calibration of: Humidity sensors and chart recorders; hygrothermographs; chilled mirror hygrometers; and various material samples for environmental testing.

Importance of the Thunder Scientific 2500 in the MATsolutions lab:

MATsolutions believes it’s important to have as broad a range of test & measurement, mechanical and physical/dimensional capabilities as possible under one roof, and is continually growing and expanding our offerings. The Thunder Scientific 2500 Humidity Generator is one such example, and allows us to provide:

  • Faster turnaround time – typically 3-5 days ;
  • Better value – with all the work being done directly by MATsolutions, there’s no additional 3rd party mark-up
  • Single point of accountability – keeping the work in-house means we have full control over the quality of the work, from start to finish.
